Greater Manchester Bus Route History

The aim of this site is to catalogue the history of every bus route in Greater Manchester from the era of Greater Manchester Transport (GMT), through the deregulation era and up to the new Bee Network.

The archives of the Museum of Transport, Greater Manchester includes a timetable collection gathered from official sources and other donations. We aspire to add links to electronic versions of these timetables as the development of this catalogue progresses.

Please bear in mind this site is still in the early stages of development. It now has listings of all the routes we are aware of that have run within the Greater Manchester boundary since the start of deregulation in October 1986, plus the routes that have so far become part of the Bee Network. However only a few of these entries so far contain complete operator listings and timetable links. More are being added regularly.
