Due to significant challenges to the punctuality, no longer sustainable to maintain existing timetable within current level of resource and the passenger numbers are insufficient to justify an addtl bus while maintaining a reasonable cost/pax. The alternative would be to amend the frequency to ev75 min which would be unattractive to customers, service split into two separate services: 84 Withington to Cholton & 254 Stretford to Davyhulme Section of route btwn Stretford and Cholton withdrawn, but continues to be served by 23 and 25 via Davyhulme, Urmston and Southern Cemetery. Section btwn Urmston and Flixton via Church Rd now served by rerouted 18 which provides extended operation of services in this area. Section via Flixton not be replaced as alternative services through Flixton are available through services 245, 247 and 256. Only the section of route via St Werberghs Rd in Cholton will be unserved, however this is proximate to Metrolink services and within walking distance of services 25, 25, 85, 86 and 150. | WD |
